Update 6th May 2020

We hope you're keeping well in this strange time, having spoken to several of you over the last few weeks, it's not been all bad. Personally, we've spent a lot more time with my kids than usual, which has been great, the home schooling element has been very challenging but most of the time it's been fun. Kind of.

We’ve been thrilled that some of our clients have been in touch to get new orders sorted including — given all this nice weather we have had — new sunglasses for a lot of you. Some of which have included video frame styling which is mighty interesting. Let me know if you’d like to know more about it.  In short, if you are interested in anything new, please get in touch.

Looking ahead (maybe it is possible to look ahead!) we’ve been figuring out how we can reopen safely.  In turn, we’ve realised that we will need to extend our appointment times, and move to appointment only.  This will help us to keep everything as clean as possible for you and for us. We’re sure you’ll agree that’s best.

We’ll have this all sorted and ready to go when the time comes and we will, of course, keep you posted.

COVID-19: Updated services

We hope you and your family are keeping well and safe. Nobody knows what the next few months will bring but we wanted to make contact to update you on what we, at Glimpse, are doing to ensure we can continue to take care of our patients.

Glimpse is open and we expect to remain so throughout this crisis, although our service is restricted to telephone and email in order to protect our incredible team of staff and wonderful clients. We are of course taking every possible measure to ensure that Glimpse remains a safe space for all, and an important part of this is to restrict the number of people who come into the store.

Until further notice, we will be offering only what could be categorised as “high priority” appointments with our Optometrists. So if you are simply making an appointment for a routine check up or eye examination then we ask that you postpone this until normal service has been resumed. If however you are having problems with your vision, have lost your glasses, or any other situation where you need our help, then we will do everything possible to ensure we are here to take care of you.

If you need your glasses adjusting then please contact us to arrange an appointment so we can ensure that the numbers of people within our store are kept as low as possible over this period. If you need supplies of contact lenses and solutions, these can be posted to you without any additional charges. By taking these steps now, we are confident that whatever the future brings we will be able to continue to provide the high standard of service you have always received. All our staff will remain employed throughout the crisis and we look forward to welcoming you back into the store in better times.
